Designed For Your Little Stars!
Twinkle Stars is our bright, colourful and varied area for children from the age of 2 upwards. It is designed to provide dedicated spaces for our wide ranging and child-led nursery activities, such as creative, role play, construction, ICT and group time. There are also areas for quiet rest. As with our Little Sparkles, your children continue to have a keyworker assigned to them, as well as their daily home/nursery book.Children also have learning journey books which you can ask to see at any time. Look out too for our separate photo albums for both age groups which are kept on display in our foyer and provides a delightful record of what activities your child has been doing on a daily basis.
Our Quiet Corner
As in our Little Sparkles area, Twinkle Stars provides a separate quiet area for our children aged over two years where they can do quiet activities and just snuggle up: we have colourful and cosy soft furnishings and a delightful story time and reading area: children who want some quiet from the hustle and bustle of the nursery day are encouraged to spend time here and it is a friendly and welcoming space.
A Growing & Changing Space
The Twinkle Stars areas are constantly changing to provide our children with a stimulating and appropriate environment, and also to allow for a wide range of experiences There are always new displays to see and the children themselves are involved in all aspects of this.
Our Creative Area
Our Creative Area provides space with versatile, safe and adaptable furniture for all kinds of creative activities including painting, colouring, playdough, sand play, water and craftwork. You are likely to see a wide range of interesting and often unusual materials being used from old favourites like glitter, shiny paper and stickers to more tactile substances such as dry pasta, rice, fabric and coloured feathers: the sky's the limit!
Our Role Play Area
A range of imaginative and eye-catching areas and facilities to enhance and encourage creative play at all stages of development from ages 2-4: our curriculum covers all the Early Learning Goals, giving the children a good head start, and we work closely with the Nursery team at Haltwhistle First School to make sure that both our curriculums compliment each other. Expanding on the traditional features of a Home Corner, and adding different elements to make into almost anything, our Role Play area ensures that creative and role play remains a major part of this curriculum. We also have a superb IBM Young Explorer computer centre which is designed specifically for early years learning, developing skills such as eye to hand co-ordination through the use of the mouse to stimulate learning through enjoyment of educational and age-appropriate computer games.
